How does the series work?
The Varren Arcane Contracts is told like a show. A crew, a season, and one episode per member of the crew — each episode is a full novella told from that person’s point of view. When a season ends, the next one rotates the characters.
Episodes come out one chapter at a time, a new chapter every week. Each chapter is a proper sit-down read, around 6,000 words.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every published chapter is free to read and free to listen to here, no account and no email address needed. The watchable versions are free on YouTube.
Read, listen, or watch — what’s the difference?
They’re the same chapter, out on the same day. Pick whatever fits your day:
- Read it on this site. Your place is kept, and you can change the font, size and colors with the Aa button.
- Listen on this site: tap Listen at the top of any chapter. The narration keeps playing with your screen off.
- Watch it on YouTube, as an illustrated drama and as a video drama. Every chapter links to both. There are short clips on YouTube Shorts and TikTok too.
Once an episode is complete, the whole thing goes up on YouTube as one film — the audiobook with illustrations.
What about your other books?
My earlier books are finished — standalones and complete series — and they’re sold on Amazon. You’ll find them under More books, each with a link straight to its Amazon page.
Do I need an account?
No. An account is only useful if you read on more than one device: it keeps your place in sync between your phone and your laptop. Signing in is an email and a code — no password, about 20 seconds.
What it stores is as little as it can: your email address and your reading positions. No ad profiles, no tracking pixels, nothing sold or shared.
Email comes in two kinds. The practical kind — sign-in links — arrives because the site can’t work without it. The other kind is one email the day each chapter is out, and only if you asked for it; one click ends it.
Want it all gone? Write to me and the account and everything in it is deleted, no questions, no wait.
